The Stanley Land and Homes team was proud to play its role in recognising a leading homelessness support project at this year’s Northern Housing Awards.
We were honoured to present Bridge-It Housing UK Team Ltd with the award for Best Initiative for Tackling Homelessness at the awards which were attended by over thousand guests from the housing sector.
Bridge-It provides housing and support to families and individuals, seeing each client as a human being and empowering them to turn their life around. The organisation was shortlisted alongside fellow nominees Torus and Light for Life in partnership with Sefton Council.
Chris Curtis, director of Stanley Land and Homes, commented: “All the projects in this award category would have been worthy winners for the truly inspiring work they do in tackling homelessness, and we were thrilled to help the housing community recognise their efforts.
You could see how much it meant to all of them and especially to the team at Bridge-It Housing when they went up to collect the award. Our congratulations once again to all involved.”
Bridge-It works with local authorities, housing organisations and communities across the North of England.
It takes a person-centred approach to tackling homelessness, building the capacity of people who have experienced homelessness to feel they are part of society, regain control of their lives, and become more confident about participating in decisions that affect their future.
Stanley Land and Homes has been a long-term partner of the Northern Housing Awards. This year’s ceremony, held at The Point at Emirates Old Trafford, saw awards presented in 24 categories.
